Dear All Women,
To be a woman is a beautiful thing, but to be proud of being a woman is the most beautiful realization. I am just a normal 20-year-old who aspires to be a good human with all my femininity as my potential. I am a woman who is about to graduate in a couple of years with a bachelor’s degree and trust me, I have a long-drawn-out list of not just my aspirations but to decide upon targets that I’ve set for myself in the future.
I am so proud of the woman I have become. I am proud of all the decisions I’ve taken, and all the things I have been through to be where I am today. I am proud of the standpoint and mindset I’ve inculcated and nurtured in me to become the person that I am now. I am who I am today because I was raised by a determined strong woman who raised me to be an even stronger daughter and a better person. I am her passionately independent daughter who has a great amount of unshakable integrity and is unstoppable when she puts her heart and mind into something.
Here I am being the woman I feel is the best version of myself and doing everything I want to pursue, but it disheartens me to know that other women in the world do not have the liberty or opportunity to do the same. Being a woman who is happy and successful does not only mean doing as much as a man but more than any man can ever do. I am sure of our capabilities that can astonish the entire world with just our efforts.
When you think of women in the past, you’ll notice through the years, women had to fight for every little basic thing that they deserved from the beginning itself. We had to fight for our rights and every woman supported and empowered the other to get through this difficult situation. Look at us today, the need is still very similar. Women still need to empower each other.
To get to the point of supporting one another, we need to accept and love ourselves first. It is 100% natural to be different but always remember to be happy with it. Each one of us is different and according to me, it feels great to meet new people with different sides to themselves. A lot of people say that looks are not important but if you think that your looks make you seem confident and you love the feel of it, then don’t let anyone make you feel otherwise. This is your decision. So be confident in your uniqueness, just love your intuition, love your wisdom, love your morals, and more importantly, love yourself.
Women, we have to remember and cherish our worth. We have the absolute power- the power that changes the world with just our efforts. We are deserving of all our aspirations and dreams to come true. We are unstoppable and unbeatable if we give our all to something. If we want to spread empowerment, we, first, have to feel the empowerment. Always remember, we are worthy of everything that we want for ourselves.
I have heard so many women talking about how they want to marry rich. They want to be with rich surgeons, lawyers, CEOs, and so on. I used to joke about it too, but now, this thought just bugs me when I realize that the other women were serious about this. So this is for all those ladies out there. I want to remind you that you can be that surgeon. You can be that lawyer or CEO. You can be rich on your own and you will be happy to be the success of your comfort and luxury.
“So women, I ask you all to love your messy hair, love those dark circles you just can’t seem to get rid of, love your skin, love your smile, love your curves– love your natural self.” – unknown.
I cannot wait to see every woman out there achieving their goals and becoming the woman of their dreams. I look forward to meeting you all in the future and remember, to be a woman is a beautiful thing, but to be proud of being a woman is the most beautiful realization.
With Love & Admiration,
Subhangi Rout
P.S. A diamond might be made under pressure, but a bread dough rises when you let it be. So don’t put extra pressure on yourself. Fall in love, ladies, with yourself.
